Tarina Tarantino and Kid Robot

It's true --the two have banded together to create smashing jewelry and accessories with snorkin' kozik labbits, munnys and more...
The main thing that caught my attention was the tiny top-hat. I have had plans to feature these mini-hats encrusted with my charms in the Komodokat shop very soon, and I was somewhat disappointed to come across this, but at the same time delighted. At any rate, be on the lookout for my new stuff --it will be awesome and probably more than half the price! ;)

Etsy Finds

These just recently caught my eye from Etsy seller ElJan

Beaded Dunny

(Hey KidRobot --why aren't you offering *this* as a limited and rare piece in your shop?!)

Beaded Blythe

The amount of intricate detail and work is astounding....ElJan offers "one of a kind micro-mosaics" and her shop is packed full with sweet urban vinyl characters revamped with her amazing style...Take for instance Blythe (above), who looks like she's crawled out from under the bowels of the undead, with her bluish skin, dark hair and sunken zombie eyes (cute and winky? more like creepy and weird)... she almost reminds me of a demented voodoo doll, just waiting for the perfect victim...This is sure to give you sweet (and sour) dreams at night...what's even better? For only $3,500.00, she can be yours.

Cowbell Hero

Fo' shizzle, I NEED this:

http://www.bandgeekhero.com/

thanks to shinyshiny.tv for the link --this site has virtually any instrument you can think of done in the classic Guitar Hero typeface. Considering the fact that I suck at GuitarHero --cowbell, piano or synths would be more appropriately up my alley. I even like the fact that they have 'sitar hero' and 'glockenspiel' Hero. (I'm still waiting for the jew's harp and washboard versions ....)

Still on the Wall-E train...

J just forwarded me this *awesome* do-it-yourself papercraft kit of WALL-E, officially from Disney:

WALL-E PAPERCRAFT

So now if you can't afford the commercial toy, you can at least make your own paper version!

WALL-E

Saw Wall-E this weekend....adorable, and definitely Pixar's best by way of animation so far. I especially appreciated the minimal dialogue in the beginning of the film which set a nice tone for the movie as a whole. Anybody see an E.T. resemblance, or is it just me? As far as little robots go, I'll definitely be purchasing the miniature sized Wall-E that's already available in stores. Cute cute and more cute --this film was inspiring and delightful. Maybe some komodo-bots will emerge in the not-so-distant future?

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!!

In addition to being an Etsy seller, I'm probably one of Etsy's biggest trolls when it comes to scouring the site looking at items made by others...The following are things I found randomly that I'm totally in love with...

Little Dictator Catnip felt toy - No.1 Adolf

VOTING IS STILL OPEN FOR NBT 2008

Voting is still open for Fredflare's NEXT BIG THING design competition (until July 16, 2008). So if you haven't cast your vote yet, please do so!!! It will only take 1 minute or less!

The competition is stiff this year--not only are there *amazing* designers from all over the country, some even have celebrity-endorsements already! I am so thrilled to have been included in this experience. Even if I do not win the final vote, it makes no difference --it's been worth it! The Sparkly teeth studs are available for sale in both Fred Flare's shop as well as my etsy store and Lov.li. The fact that there are so many new opportunities arising for independent artists to actually get their works out into the world --this to me, almost seems like a new 'renaissance' is being born. Handmade is finally getting the attention it deserves. Let's hope it never ends...
